CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Submission deadline: 30.01.2011

Participants who would like to hold a poster presentation must submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee. Abstracts should be submitted in English and arrive no later than Sunday, January 30, 2011.

The Scientific Committee will determine whether abstracts will be accepted as free communications or poster presentations. The best poster will be awarded with a poster price with a notation of EUR 1.000,--, which will be handed over after the oral presentation of selected papers on Saturday. Each talk should be 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.

SUBMISSION

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is Sunday, January 30, 2011.
Abstracts must be submitted via e-mail to m.nagl@vereint.com. Submission by fax is not accepted.

The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission. Authors whose abstracts are accepted for poster presentation will display their scientific posters on Friday and Saturday. They are requested to present their research during the designated poster session.

In case the author wants to withdraw an accepted abstract, a written request must be sent by January 17, 2011 at the latest!

Only the abstracts of registered presenting authors will be published!
Abstracts accepted for presentation will be published on the website of EFR prior to the congress.



INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

The person who submits the abstract will be automatically considered as a presenting author. The e-mail address of the submitter will be used for further communication with the author(s). The presenting author of the abstract must be registered for the congress.

Title
Max. 140 characters.
No uppercases for the first letter in each word of the title.

Name of the author(s)

Max. 8 authors per abstract.
The initial of the first name and the full last name should be given. Authors should omit degrees and titles. Please use upper and lower case.

Address/Institution
Indicate the name of the institution, city, state and country - no postal codes.
Please use upper and lower case. If address is not the same for all authors, indicate the authors´ correct affiliations by numbers.

Text of the abstract
The abstracts must be submitted in English and should include:
  • Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Layout
Abstracts should be limited to 1500 characters (approx. 250 words) body text (= without title, authors).

No figures, tables and images are accepted within the abstract. Authors should not use any special formatting and should not include footnotes or references, as they will not be printed. If abstracts include special characters not normally found e.g. in the Times New Roman or Arial font, please provide a hard copy in addition to the electronic copy for comparison purposes. In particular, we are concerned about accent marks and mathematical symbols or Greek characters (e.g. Alpha, Beta).
Please use a double space between title/author/address block and body of summary. Otherwise, single space. Please avoid boldfacing, italics and underlining within the text.
Abbreviations: Standard abbreviations may be used. Give the term in full when first mentioned, followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis.
Drug products should be identified by their non proprietary names only.
