On April 13 and 14, 2007, the International EFR Meeting took place in Vienna. It was the 5th International Event organised by the European Federation for ColoRectal Cancer.

A press conference was held in advance with the President of the EFR Prof. Béla Teleky, MD, EFR Secretery General Ass. Prof. Irene Kührer, MD and Prof. Christoph Zielinski, MD, Head of the Medical Oncology Department at University of Vienna. Its motto being „Preventing, Healing, Palliating“, it received great attention in the media. [» International EFR Meeting 2007 in Vienna]


Words and pictures as conveyors of strength and confidence. The common European language of art united in the first EFR Calendar with paintings from artists and people affected.

After a year bonteous in work and events, it is a particular pleasure to extend invitations to the traditional Autumn Meeting of the EFR in this December season. This, already the third such symposium in the fall, is a cross-section of the activities throughout the brief associated term of the European Federation for ColoRectal Cancer. The International EFR Spring Meeting will be taking place in Vienna form March 31 to April 2, 2005.

The programme created will focus on new development in the multidisciplinary setting of colorectal cancer treatment – from diagnosis to state-of-the-art treatment approaches. In addition to scientific presentations and lectures one entire day will be dedicated to a surgical training course with live transmission into the auditorium. This autumn, from November 26 to 27, the 2nd EFR Symposium will be taking place in Bad Tatzmannsdorf.

Apart from scientific presentations of various therapeutic approaches this meeting will provide a forum for extensive exchange with our colleagues from the new EU-member states. Joining forces in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and openness is a crucial issue regarding collaboration and framing strategies for the years ahead.
